Bill was a member of Richland Hills Church of Christ. He was a 1938 graduate of Riverside High School in Fort Worth. Bill served his country in World War II in the U.S. Coast Guard. Bill married Lola Dee Harris of Comanche on April 4, 1942, and was a 1949 graduate of ACU. Bill was a distinguished minister of the Gospel for over 50 years, having been honored as a faithful servant by Abilene Christian University in 1997. Bill, Dee and their daughters served churches in Texas and Oklahoma. Bill was a sought-after Gospel meeting and vacation Bible school speaker. He was a session director for Camp Red Oak Springs for six years and was chaplain for the VFW. ??? Bill was preceded in death by his parents, C.E. and Willie Mae; two brothers; five sisters; and great-great grandson, Gage Funderburgh. ??? Survivors: Wife, Lola Dee Cofer of North Richland Hills; daughters, Donna Bishop and her husband, Gary, of North Richland Hills, Linda Funderburgh and her husband, Mike, of Decatur and Nancy Fearn and her husband, Bill, of St. Peters, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
