William Drake

FORT WORTH -- William Adams Drake Sr., 94, passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at his residence. William was born Nov. 26, 1917, in Ocilla, Ga. He served in the artillary and was at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked. He was later transferred to the infantry where he received several awards, one of which was the Bronze Medal. After he returned home from the war, he was hired by General Dynamics where he worked until his retirement in 1981. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Drake. Survivors: Son, William Drake Jr. and Paula; daughters, Katherine Kieffer and Martha Nix and husband, Garry; sister, Elizabeth Davidson; grandchildren, Kimberly Kieffer, Kevin Kieffer, Shelley Dickson and husband, Sean, Kris Kieffer, Austen Drake and wife, Ashley, Jessica Nix and Amber Dressler; great-grandsons, Cash Kieffer, Forest Drake and Fisher Dickson; and additional family, Wesley Burgess.
