BEDFORD -- William "Dub" N. Helm III lost his battle with Alzheimer's on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, in Keller. Memorial service: A memorial service and reception will be held to honor and celebrate Dub's life at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at Compass Christian Church, 2600 Hall Johnson Road, Colleyville 76034. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Dub Helm Tribute Fund at www.alz.org. Dub was born in Fort Worth on Dec. 30, 1937. He was a proud native of Fort Worth attending Amon Carter-Riverside High School and Texas Christian University. For most of his career, Dub was a successful salesman and sales manager for both Snap-On Tools and Matco Tools. Dub had an affinity for mechanics and loved rebuilding cars and motorcycles. Later in life his real passion was found in singing country music. Friends and family came first in Dub's heart. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. Survivors: He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate, Carolyn, of 54 years; daughters and their spouses, Cheryl Helm-Tiernan and Michael Tiernan, Christy Helm and Brian Hendershot; his sister and brother-in-law, Lynda and Darrell Alongi; his loving nieces and nephews; as well as his sweet little dogs, Hannah and Willie; and friends too numerous to mention.
