NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- William G. Millar, a retired U.S. Army major, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011. Memorial service: 12:45 p.m. Friday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Honor Flights or simply shake the hand of a soldier and thank him or her for their service to our country. Bill was born in Keller on May 27, 1924. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and flew with the 464th Bomb Group in World War II. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, and great-granddaughter, Savannah Scholfield. Survivors: Daughters, Linda Scholfield and husband, Rick, of Lenoir City, Tenn., Treyonne Peart and husband, Randy, of North Richland Hills; grandchildren, Alisa Coppock, David Scholfield and wife, Kim, Catherine Merritt and husband, Logan, all of Tennessee, and Joshua Reed of North Richland Hills; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loyal companion, Lucy.
