BEDFORD -- Will J. Murrah, 77, died suddenly at his home Friday afternoon, Sept. 12, 2008. Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at St. Vincent's Episcopal Cathedral, 1300 Forest Ridge Drive, Bedford, with the Very Rev. Ryan Reed officiating. Pallbearers will be Jacob Murrah, Justin Murrah, David Redding, Cody Sherrod, James Loveless, Ray Morphis, Steven Walters, Charles Thrasher, Mark Russell and Justin Croft. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Retina Foundation of the Southwest, 9900 N. Central Expwy, Suite 400, Dallas, Texas 75231. William Jacob Murrah was born Dec. 9, 1930, in Del Rio to Elizabeth and Tol Murrah. He married Judith Ann Gibson on May 10, 1953. Will served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954 and on the Terrell County Board of Education for 12 years. Will was a lifelong sheep rancher near Sanderson in southwest Texas. He retired in 1982 and moved to the Hurst area in 1985, where they enjoyed retirement by touring all of the other 49 states in their Foretravel motorhome. Survivors: Will is survived by his wife of 55 years; his sons, Bob Murrah and wife, Sherri, of Helotes and Jake Murrah and wife, Virginia, of Bedford; grandchildren, Melissa Sherrod, Jacob Murrah, Michelle Loveless, Stacie Murrah, Justin Murrah; and great-granddaughter, Alexis Loveless.
