FORT WORTH -- William C Northern Jr., 82, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at a local hospital. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, 800 W. Fifth St. Dr. Lamar E. Smith will officiate. Burial: Following commital services, Bill will be laid to rest in Greenwood Memorial Park. Bearers of the casket will be Glen Brown, David Deibel, Paul Hagseth, Paul Mathews, Joseph P. Northern, Curt Shannon and Greg Shannon. Honorary bearers will be the past potentates of Moslah Shrine, Moslah Shrine Patrol and Fort Worth Court 32, ROJ. Memorials: Contributions in Bill's honor are suggested to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Box 1320, Fort Worth, Texas 76101. Bill, the son of William C and Tressye Tillotson Northern, was born Aug. 26, 1924, in Fort Worth. He graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1942 and received a BS degree from TCU in 1948. He served with the 5th Bomb Group, Heavy, of the 13th Air Force during World War II. Bill retired from Stafford-Lowdon in 1982 after 30 years of service. He was an active Mason and Shriner, holding memberships in Julian Feild Lodge 908 AF&AM, Fort Worth Scottish Rite Bodies, KCCH 1971, Texas Chapter 362, Texas Council 361, Worth Commandery 19, St. Timothy Conclave, Red Cross of Constantine, DeMolay Legion of Honor and Moslah Shrine, where he served as potentale in 1970. He was a life member and past captain of Moslah Shrine Patrol and past director and impresario of Fort Worth Court 32, ROJ. Bill was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Jackie Rodgers Northern.
