Bill was born May 6, 1935, in Crawford. Bill graduated from Amon G. Carter High School and North Texas State University. He was a free spirit who hitchhiked across the U.S. and served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Peace Corps and U.S. Military Sealift Command and with valor in combat in Vietnam as a member of the 101st Airborne (2/506). He was best friend to his son, Brandon; caring husband to his wife, Linda; and loved his rescued dog, Tuffy. He lived his life according to the ideals this nation was founded upon. Most of all, he was a Texan. Survivors: His wife of 40 years, Linda Plemons; son, Brandon Plemons, both of Fort Worth; brother, Joseph Plemons and wife, Marilyn, of Allyn, Wash.; and aunt, Mary Honko of Plymouth, Pa. Special mention goes to Mildred "MeMaw" Roten, who has always given with her whole heart to us through the years. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored by donations in memory of Bill to La Trinidad United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, Texas, the Humane Society of North Texas or the Disabled Veterans of America.
