BURLESON -- William Henry "Buddy" Randall, 71, died peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, following a valiant fight against leukemia. Service: A memorial will be held for Buddy at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, in the Chapel of Lucas & Blessing Funeral Home located at 518 SW Johnson Avenue in Burleson, followed by a small reception in the parish hall. Memorial: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Burleson or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Buddy was born in Dallas on Dec. 24, 1941, and graduated from North Dallas High School. At age 7, Buddy began his first paper route with the then-named Dallas Times Herald. Buddy's passion for news and books would flourish into a career that would span over 55 years. In 1970, after moving to Fort Worth, he managed and operated Worth Bindery for 33 years. He then resumed his first job of delivering papers, this time for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. After retirement "PawPaw Buddy" began caring for his granddaughters every day. Survivors: Children, Joseph Bret Randall and Elizabeth Pier Randall Kirkpatrick and husband, Tim; four grandchildren, Nicholas Menikos, Orlin Shugart, and Katie and Ellie Mae Kirkpatrick; sisters, Janis Randall Thompson and Elizabeth Kay Randall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
