FORT WORTH -- William Basil Todd Jr., 84, died peacefully Sunday morning, May 17, 2009.        Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 917 Lamar St. The Rev. R. William Dickson will officiate. Following committal prayers, Bill will be laid to rest in Greenwood Memorial Park with Tim Murray, Price Hulsey, Louis P. McLain III, Jungus Jordan, Jerry Vandever, Dr. Art Garcia, Harold Farris and members of the Magnolia Mafia and their spouses serving as honorary bearers.        Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the Union Gospel Mission, 1321 E. Lancaster Ave., Fort Worth, Texas 76102, is suggested. Bill was born in Dallas on Oct. 30, 1924, the son of William Basil and May Taylor Todd. At 6 years old, he and his family moved to Fort Worth, where he lived since. He graduated from Arlington Heights High School and attended Texas Christian University. For most of his working live, Bill owned and operated Todd Insurance Agency and later Red Wing Shoe Stores. He was a third-generation member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and when younger, was very active teaching Sunday school, being a lay reader and serving on the vestry. He belonged to the Rotary Club of Fort worth, downtown, for more than 50 years and was active in the Fort Worth Camellia Society and the Magnolia Mafia, among other clubs. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Edna Ma Todd. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Catherine Bruce Todd, Bill is survived by his son, William B. "Billy" Todd III; his daughter, Molly D'Arcy and her husband, Mike; stepchildren, Chip Bruce and his wife, Susie, Karen Williams and Susan Bruce; grandchildren, Tracy D'Arcy, David D'Arcy, Jennifer Bray and her husband, Wesley, Julie Lightfoot and her husband, Josh, Mark Williams, Emily Bruce, Stephen Bruce and Shana Bellin; and great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Chloe Lightfoot.
