BURLESON -- William "Bill" Jolley died on July 12, 2009, after a long illness. Funeral Service: Services will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, July 17, at Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home, 518 S.W. Johnson Avenue, Burleson. Interment: Laurel Land Cemetery, Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home. Bill was born June 4, 1919 in Russellville, Arkansas. He served as an elder of the Rendon Church of Christ. He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and participated in the invasions of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He was the president of the United Auto Workers Local 276 and retired from General Motors in 1981. Survivors: Bill is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy Jolley; daughters, Jaynee Smith and Kelly Reed; grandchildren, Joey Reed, Mike Reed, Shawna Smith, and Aimee Heimer; great-grandchildren, Michael and Steven Reed, Trevor and Taylor Reed, and Ashton Heimer; great-great-grandchild, Skyler Reed and Hayden Reed.
