BEDFORD -- Willie Thomas Geer, 88, a retired USAF master sergeant and a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009.        Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road in Hurst, with the Rev. Homer G. Ritchie, former pastor of First Baptist Church downtown Fort Worth; the Rev. Wendyl Glenn, pastor of Sherwood Shores Baptist Church; and the Rev. Raymond Johns, pastor of Bedford Baptist Temple, officiating. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park with full military honors. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to service time Tuesday at the funeral home.        Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bedford Baptist Temple, Bedford, Texas; or Sherwood Shores Baptist Church, 1044 Hillcrest Circle, Gordonville, Texas 76245.        Willie Thomas Geer was born March 26, 1920, in Bethel, Okla. He married Opal J. Mowery on May 6, 1937, in Jacksboro. He served in the 718th Army Air Force during World War II in the Asian-Pacific Campaign and the occupation of Japan. He retired from the U.S. Air Force 301st Tactical Fighter Wing at Carswell Air Force Base, Jan. 25, 1980, as a senior master sergeant after a distinguished career.        He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Elwyn Geer and Vida May Simpson Geer; brother, Jessie Wayne Geer; and beloved brother-in-law, Winfred Shields.        Survivors: Wife of 69 years, Opal J. Geer; son, Thomas G. Geer and his wife, Amy Jo; daughters, Sandra D. Fuller and her husband, Kenneth, and Vicki Geer; grandchildren, Cari Geer Alexander and her husband, Stephen, Jason Thomas Fuller and his wife, Anna, Jermiah Walter Roberts and his wife, Audra, and Thomas Justin Roberts; great-grandchildren, Cole Roberts, Grant Fuller, Emma Fuller and William Alexander; sisters, Ruby Shields, Daphine Lane and her husband, J.K, Mary Givler and her husband, Leon.
