FORT WORTH -- Louise Powell O'Keefe, 83, died peacefully Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, at her home. "She is now absent from the body and face to face with the Lord." -- 2 Corinthians 5:8. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Mount Olivet Cemetery, the Rev. Lawrence M. Hammond will officiate. Memorials: Consideration of contributions to the R.B. Thieme Jr. Bible Ministries, P.O. Box 460829, Houston 77056, in memory of Louise, is suggested. A native of Fort Worth, Louise was born July 10, 1924, the daughter of Luther and Margaret Faye Powell. She graduated from North Side High School before beginning work at Meacham Airport where she met her future husband, the late David Scott O'Keefe Sr. of Canyon. The couple were married Aug. 26, 1944, in Fort Worth. Louise was a devoted wife and mother whose life centered around her love for the Lord Jesus Christ and her family. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed playing golf for many years. Most recently, she became an avid country and western line-dance enthusiast. Louise was truly a wonderful blessing to all who knew her. While living in Houston, Louise was a faithful member of Berachah Church, under the ministry of Robert B. Thieme Jr., pastor. "Precious in the sight of the Lord are the death of his saints," --Psalms 116:15. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, David S. O'Keefe, who died Aug. 8, 2003. Survivors: Her children, David S. O'Keefe Jr. and his wife, Sheri of Houston, Kathie OKeefe Northcott and her husband, John of Brandy Station, Virginia and Timothy J. O'Keefe of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Kelley, Kristen, Carly, Ryan, Allison and Jack OKeefe, Marine SSgt. John A. Northcott III and David Timothy Northcott; and great-grandchildren, Samantha and Ashton.
