She retired after approximately 25 years of service from the Texas Department of Human Services where she enjoyed many happy years while making numerous close friends. The most important thing ever in her life by far was her large close-knit family and the associated relationships with each and every one of them. She especially treasured her four grandchildren above all else on earth. Our family wishes to express our heartfelt appreciation to all the staff members at Ashwood Assisted Living for their love, friendship, kindness and laughter as they helped us care for her over the last three years. Survivors: Sons, Dana Carnes of North Richland Hills and Terry Carnes of Irving; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmie Garner of Burleson; three aunts; and many other relatives.
