FORT WORTH -- Wilma Schulz Dean, 96, died peacefully Wednesday morning, Nov. 19, 2008. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3621 Tulsa Way. The Rev. Ronald K. Heimsoth will officiate. Following a committal service at 3:30 p.m., Wilma will be laid to rest with family members in Our Savior's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Norse. Memorials: Consideration of contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church or a charity of one's choice, in Wilma's memory, is suggested. Wilma Olivette Schulz was born March 3, 1912, in Bosque County, the daughter of Hugo Victor and Camilla Olson Schulz. She grew up on the family farm in the Norse community, and her Norwegian and German family heritage remained important to her throughout her life. Wilma was a graduate of Clifton College Academy and North Texas Teachers College in Denton, now the University of North Texas. She was a teacher at Bosque County School, Masonic Home School and Meadowbrook Elementary School in the Fort Worth ISD. As a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Worth in 1942, her faith, church and fellow members were very dear to her. She was a member of Trinity Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Rebecca Circle. Her first and only marriage was to Francis Marion "Pete" Dean in 1988. They experienced six wonderful years of marriage prior to his death in 1994. Wilma had a love for gardening, particularly many beautiful varieties of irises, fishing on the Gulf Coast and entertaining family and friends at her home utilizing her Scandinavian recipes. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers and their wives, Elmo and Claire Schulz and Carrol and Doris Schulz. Her family wishes to thank the staff at Stonegate Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care and love shown to Wilma during the last year and a half. Survivors: Wilma is survived by her brother, Herbert Victor Schulz and his wife, Eva Lee; nieces and nephews, Clinton Schulz and his wife, Gayle, Evan Schulz and his wife, Judy, Deane Gremmel and her husband, Alan, Betty Stapleton and her husband, Bruce, Jo Anne Blades and her husband, David, Wayne Schulz, Cindy Killingsworth and her husband, Joe, and Becky Harper and her husband, Trey; many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews; and cousins, including Ruth Level and Marjorie Wigstone and her husband, Charles.
