Winnie Earline Kemp, 92 of Tioga, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2009. She was born on December 20, 1916 in Gunter to General Price and Amy Elizabeth (Cox) Sturdy. She married Carl Winston Kemp on March 12, 1937 in Durant, OK. She was a graduate of Gunter High School and a member of Tioga Church of Christ. She worked for several years at Hilltop Haven in Gunter. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 10:00AM at Tioga Church of Christ, with Ricky Patterson and Mark Johnson officiating , burial will follow at Tioga Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 from 7:00 to 8:00PM at Huff/Slay Funeral Home. She is survived by three sons, Carl Winston Kemp, Jr. of Stamford, Stanley Price Kemp of Tioga, and Ricky Dale Kemp of Tioga, and one daughter, Carol Ann Gray of Duncanville. She is also survived by two sisters Maurine Gates of Denver, CO and Alma Ruth Burns of Gunter, twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, brother Oscar Thurman Sturdy, and sisters, Loma Cook and Doris Barlow.
