Woodie Vardeman

Woodie, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, was called home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 8, 2010. Visitation: the family will receive friends Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home, 137 East Hill Street in Keller. Woodie served in the U.S. Army and owned three television stores in northern Tarrant County. After selling those stores, he was a cattle rancher for 40 years, his life-long passion. He came out of retirement to drive a school bus for Southlake Carroll schools, where he found great happiness driving and mentoring children. Woodie was devoted to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Roanoke, Texas. Woodie was a great man and was loved by all who knew him. Woodie is survived by his wife, Bonnie Sue Vardeman; his children Marcy Hudson and husband Daniel, Julie Disher and husband Frank, Chip Vardeman and wife Tammy; his grandchildren Angelique Disher Dale and husband Jarrod, Madison, Zachary, and Jaxon Vardeman; his brother Billy Burnell Vardeman and wife Snookie; and his sister-in-law Nelda Vardeman. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry Milton and Onnie Lela Vardeman and his brother Riley Milton Vardeman.
