BEDFORD -- Woodrow Wilson Ratliff Sr. passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. Interment: Whites Chapel Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. He was the founder of Ratliff Iron Works 55 years ago and it is still owned by his family, along with owning and operating Twin Cove Marina for a number of years. Woodrow was a founder of the first bank located in Colleyville and was an independent oil operator. One of his passions was being an avid player of the Texas Lottery. Survivors: Wife, Helen; sons, Woodrow Wilson Ratliff Jr. and wife, Carolyn, and Danny Lee Ratliff and wife, Suzan; daughter, Belinda Pearl Chapman and husband, Richard; sisters, Margaret Biggers and Anita Heaslet; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
